SP3 and BSOD: Unable to boot; 0x0000007E message

From the microsoft site I want downloading Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. I havent got the time to install it yet and I started getting BSOD error message. I cannot boot using Safe Mode or any other option including expanded options with F8. I tried doing a System Restore point before I started but cannot do it right now. Can anyone please help. Thanks

You should actually post the complete error reports to get a porper response. Try to follow the below links for troubleshooting your problem:

Thanks, I used the Recovery console to run the Chkdsk. It was able to find errors and fixed the issue. I tried to restart and then got the below issue:
    Stop: 0x000000FC

I then tried to boot with every possible expanded option offered and also safe mode, last known good config, etc. I have not disabled auto restart, and it doesnt appear to be the issue since it wont boot the first time. I then reviewed all posts below to no avail. Please help.

You have to post the Stop error report. You will need to diable automatic restart so tha you will be able to post a complete stop error report. If it occurs at the time of boot process then there is nothing you can do that will caue the boot to complete. Check the below link for some help:
