Windows Movie Maker won't play on my tv DVD

I made a movie that plays on my computer, but when I put it on a cd it won't
play in my DVD player with the tv. My DVD player is an older one.

If you really meant to say "CD". In order to play a
CD in a free standing DVD player you must have
software that will create a VCD (Video CD). This
would be Nero, Roxio, Ulead, WinDVD, etc...
(FWIW...some DVD players will not play VCDs...
check your users manual...)

Did you save the movie in the .wmv or .avi format?

If you have a blank DVD and a DVD burner try using
the following free software to create a DVD and
maybe it will play in your DVD player.

DVD Flick

Re: *More* Windows Movie Maker won't play on my tv DVD

Save the file to a folder on your hard drive and
install from there.

Good luck...

First let me know which operating system you are running on. I have gone through the same problem in Windows Vista where i was unable to play the DVD in my system. I have gone through some of the article regarding same on the Microsoft that this is the issue related to the Windows Vista latest update. I have downloaded the latest update from the Microsoft and then the issue got resolve with the same. So if you can then go through the same and see whether this is working for you.

It will be really great if you can simply have the updates for Windows XP as well. I am of the opinion that there are some of the updates that are necessary for making the things to happen. You can go and find the updates in your case. Also I would like you to see for some other CD or DVD burner for writing on the CD. Nero is really heavy and it will be better if you can use Ashampoo Burning Studio or something from Cyberlink. See if that can help you.
