Software distribution service 3.0 keeps reinstalling itself

Every time I shut down my laptop, it updates the software. I looked at the
control points and it looks like it is reinstalling software distribution
service.

7/8 Software Distribution service 3.0
7/8 I had lost internet connectivity, so did a system restore
7/9 Software Distribution service 3.0
7/10 Software Distribution service 3.0
7/11 Software Distribution service 3.0 (5 times that day)
7/12 Software Distribution service 3.0 (3 times that day)
7/14 Software Distribution service 3.0 (3 times that day)

I have the same problem. There seems to be a conflict with additional firewalls. I am using ZoneAlarm. ZA offers a patch, but I still have not been able to get it to work right.

I am also using zone alarm. I submitted a query to their forum. Meanwhile,
I can get free McAffee with my isp, so I might just switch to that.

I uninstalled zone alarm and installed McAffee, and it still keeps
happening.

Try using Comodo Pro ( free) firewall .

Please, use only 1 firewall on you computer & as many spyware/malware
removers as you want.
