| Apple Quicktime not fully functional on Vista Ultimate 64
G'day all. I subscribe to a turorial movie site that only enables users to use apple Quicktime to view the movie tutorials. Apple quicktime on my Vista Ultimate 64 machine does not display the control toolbar, such as being able to pause the movie, adjust sound, rewind. This bottom tool menu for Apple Quicktime is completly missing. Yet on my dual boot machine, Windows XP Pro 32 has no problems displaying the entire Quicktime windows with all its controls. Has anyone succeeded in configuring Vista 64 bit to be fully functional with Apple Quicktime? Many thanks. Ron |

Ron, My Internet connection keeps disconnecting, literally, by the minute. I can't test anything right now and it's already time to hit the sack down here (i.e.: midnight). I'll see what happens tomorrow morning with my ISP. :) Carlos "Ron" <ronjs@tpg.com.au> escribió en el mensaje de noticias news:9624C52A-D1E3-4C0F-A958-48855EC17398@microsoft.com... > G'day Carlos. Hello Ron, I just installed the latest Quicktime to test this. The bottom toolbar controls all appear to be showing ok here. Does resizing the window help at all? Yes I am running the standard font size and it is not the reason why the menu bar in Quicktime is invisible. Also tried resizing my window size and Quicktime size....still no menu bar present. Where the bottom menu bar should be is totally blacked out. I too am running Vista Ult. 64-bit. Up until a few days ago, I could open ..MOV files just fine. I'm running QT Pro 7.5 (861), and whenever I try to open ANY QT file, I get the error message 43, file cannot be found. I can watch embedded MOV files in IE7, but not in FF 3. I downloaded the iTunes64Setup.exe file from Apple, and installed it, but still no dice. | Re: Apple Quicktime not fully functional on Vista Ultimate 64
For Windows Vista 64 there is obviously a compatibly issue between Firefox 3 and Apple quick time showing the control bar. I found the best way to work around this is to disable the Quick Time plug-in within Firefox 3 which allows the .mov window to open with in Quick Time directly and not in Firefox. Then you will have the missing control bar. I don't have a clue about Internet Explorer as I prefer not to use it except under urgent situations where something won't work in Firefox and I need it now. |

I too am on a Vista 64 and having the same issues. In my case it is not only Fire Fox. I have the same issue in IE, Safari, and even in iTunes. The weird thing is that it worked fine until I put in my registration information to make my player Quicktime Pro. In addition to the Quicktime issue I have several complete lockups where everything freezes (including my mouse and my keyboard), and most of the time this happens I have Safari open. Not sure why but it seems like Windows VIsta 64 doesn't get along so well with Apple products. Please let me know if you find a solution for this as I often view Lynda.com videos as well. If I find a solution I will do the same. ~ C |
