    dotNET 1.1 SP1 install error on 2003 Server 64-bit Datacenter SP2

I need serious help here to help me. I have SQL 2005 64-bit and IIS with the most recent updates and patches. But when I go with the setup I am getting a constant error. The error says that it does not support 64bit edition. I checked the log file and found a number of issues in it. It is getting complicated. Does any third party application is causing the problem. I want help to configure this 64bit server but stuck with the error. Thanks.

It looks like some issue with the .net version you have. Try to get one manually from the official Microsoft download website, but do not forget to check the edition. This must be 64bit or should be compatible with the same. I had faced the issue with .net update some time ago. A manual setup has fixed the issue.

Yes I will too advice you to check the .net edition. Or verify the patches that you have. There is some incompatible setup which is causing the problem. It is not valid to post number of assumptions here. You also did not mentioned clearly about the exact error that you are facing. Means when the error appears. On which patch or setup. Somehow 32bit application works on 64bit, but as you are working with servers, it is necessary that you must check it properly or it will be major issue in future.
