Re: svchost.exe - Application Error

Is this per chance on a copied or restored system.

Re: svchost.exe - Application Error

I have had the same problem with the svchost.exe error at "0x79105f8" ref.
memory at 0x00000010.

Have tried everything (Spyware remover, virus checker, spybot, ad-aware,
this, that) all showing as ok.

I did however have to re-install windows about 1 week ago and this is when
it all went wrong.

I have run the scan that is suggested in one of the other posts in this
forum but nothing out of the ordinary appeared.

Any ideas please.

The error shows up everytime I boot up the laptop (unless I'm in safe mode).

Thanks

Re: svchost.exe - Application Error

When you say re-install, what was the source. If you end up with a
different drive letter due to a different drive setup when you restore an
image, this can be the result.

Re: svchost.exe - Application Error

I re-installed ( a repair type re-install) from the XP Pro Upgrade CD that I
had. The drive letter remains the same. Am totally baffled!

Have also had some Generic Win32 errors relating to ntdll.dll. Not sure if
these might be related. The Win32 error is not all of the time but the
SVCHost.exe error is.

???
