Windows XP x64: Unable to install Security Update KB2481109 getting error code 0x80070008

I really love to use Windows based operating system. Currently I have installed Windows X64 on the computer of mine. Recently I have tried to install Security Update KB2481109 on the computer of mine. It did not seems to be installed on the computer. Also I am getting following error code 0x80070008 when I am doing the same. let me know if you are having any suggestion to fix the problem of mine.

Well looking at the situation which you have provided over here I want to know whether do you have done any hardware or software changes on the computer? Do you have installed any antivirus program and also do you have enabled Firewall? Can you post entire error message which you are getting on the screen. Also post the entire log file of the error message so that I can have a look and let you know about what should you do get rid of this particular problem.

You should do the following things on the computer. You should launch the command prompt using Administrator rights and copy paste the following command on the command prompt.

Sfc/scannow

Once it gets finished you should use the following command press enter.

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

now you will see sfcdetails.txt file on the computer now you should copy the content of the file in this thread.

Well I am thinking that you are required to install the .net framework on the computer. It is a layer of the snippets of the code which is sued by the number of the latest version of the applications which can be run on the Windows based operating system. The security updates which you are supposed to install are used to securing the .net framework. You would be able to install the security update on the computer if an only if you have installed .net framework on the computer. I am hoping that after installing the .net framework you will be able to install the security update on the computer.

Well I recommend that you should make an attempt to download and install the Windows update using Safe mode. In order to boot the computer into safe mode you can use the following instruction.

• You have to restart the computer and hit F8 from the keyboard.
• It will redirect to the Advanced Boot Menu from where you should select the Safe Mode with networking and press enter after selecting the same.

Now you should try to update the same and let me know whether it is working or not.

Well looking at the matter I am suggesting the following thing which you can use to fix the problem. you should try to clean boot the computer. Using Clean boot you will launch the computer with minimum drivers. So that there would be no conflict of the software program on the computer. Once you have completed with the installing process you can return to the normal start up. I am hoping that clean boot will help you to fix the problem of yours.

I am suggesting following things which you should try and let me know the results of the same. first of all you should see that you are connected with the internet properly. You should see that you are able to visit the different website. Also see that you have enabled the firewall on the computer. Finally you should disable the antivirus program on the computer for the temporary basis. I am hoping that it will help you to fix the problem of yours.
