Is it possible to install AutoCAD 2007 on windows 7 x64?

As mentioned in the title itself i want to know if it is possible to install AutoCAD 2007 on windows 7 x64? My friends say autocad doesn't run on windows 7 x64? Is that true. I am planning to install AutoCAD 2007 on my laptop running 7 x64 and i want to confirm this out.

You cant according to system requirement of AutoCAD 2007:
    • Intel Pentium IV processor recommended Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Home Edition (SP1 or SP2), Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (SP2), or Windows 2000 (SP3 or SP4)
    • 512 MB RAM
    • 750 MB free disk space for installation
    • 1024×768 VGA display with true color
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP1 or higher)

Windows 7 is not in the list!!1

See Autodesk does not officially support 2009 and older versions of AutoCAD as well as AutoCAD LT on Windows 7. Why don't you just install AutoCAD 2010? 32-bit and 64-bit versions of AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD LT 2010 are available and and are supported on Microsoft Windows 7 as well. I think installing latest one will be a good idea.

Yes older version of AutoCAD are not supported by Autodesk Windows on 7 but you can still install it using compatibility mode. In order to do that you just have to right click on setup file for installing Autodesk and select properties. In properties window, click on compatibility tab, check mark "Run this program in compatibility mode for..." box and select Windows XP SP2, click on ok and you are done. When you will launch the application next time it will get installed in compatibility mode without any issues. If you are not able to install it with Windows XP SP2 than you can try some other from drop down list.
