| Procedure to upgrade to WindowsXP 64bit.
I have WindowsXP pro SP3 and I am not computer savvy. How can I upgrade to XP 64bit? Is this just a matter of buying the software and installing it over the present 32bit version I have at present? Please help, Frank |

You can't upgrade at all. You can only do a clean install, replacing your existing 32-bit Windows. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/charlie.russel "Frank Martin" <fm@general.com.au> wrote in message news:%230msTLIwJHA.4364@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >I have WindowsXP pro SP3 and I am not computer savvy. > > How can I upgrade to XP 64bit? before you do as below make sure all of your hardware has 64 bit drivers for it like the printer, video card etc. ================= "Charlie Russel - MVP" <charlie@mvKILLALLSPAMMERSps.org> wrote in message news:%238t%23dWIwJHA.924@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > You can't upgrade at all. Don't forget the motherboard drivers, too. Do you have a need or reason to convert to 64-bit?
