File restore crash on Windows Vista with 0x80070057 error code

When I try to restore files through backup I am getting a The parameter is incorrect. (0x80070057) error and the backup crashes. I verified the disc and they were fine. There is no errors nor any kind of bad sector was located. I am using Vista backup from long time and never face such kind of issues. I had just added a new 350GB drive recently which act as the backup place. The backup process starts but it does not get complicated. It just crashes after few minutes.

The backup failure can be due to many thing. There is a service that initiate the process and due to which you are getting the problem. Ensure that your system has full privileges to perform the process. I think there is no way to fix the problem. Some service is interrupted which caused the issue. You can try creating all stuff from scratch and then performing backup. Ensure that there is ample of space available in your drive to run the backup.

I am using Acronis for that purpose. It is a much better tool that allow me to keep my system backup properly and the restoration process is also quick. Such kind of issue appear. If your system is on RAID than troubleshooting this is again a quiet waste of time. It is always better to begin from scratch. Instead of Windows Backup there are number of different software that you can try. They are reliable and does not need major changes.

I was getting the same kind of error on 0x80070057. The backup failed completely and there was nothing I can do. It is quiet fine if the backup process fails. I want that the restoration must work better. I had shifted to another third party backup tool which is much better and provide nice option for backup.
