C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys

I am using windows Vista on Compaq laptop since past few months, it was working fine without any problem. Donít know what happened suddenly it is now just not able to boot. It comes up to the boot menu and restarts again. I tried booting the system in Safe Mode but that gets stuck at the following:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys

This is the one that is preventing my system to boot properly. I donít know what to do with this. Can anyone help me please ?

Re: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys

OK, just try out the following steps:
  • Restart your computer again and keep tapping F8.
  • Once you get the boot up options, select recovery mode and press Enter.
  • Now under this Recovery Mode, click on Command Prompt and type the following
  • rename c:\windows\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys classpnp.old
Thatís it. Now try restarting the computer again and see if it works.
