Vista startup slow on high end pc

I am facing a issue with Windows Vista Home Premium. I cannot understand why it is so slow at startup. I am having a high end computer. The processor is Core 2 Quad with 4GB RAM. When I start the computer it takes around 10 minutes to boot completely. Compared to that my XP laptop boots very fast. I had installed Vista for the first time and also updated the computer. I am really disappointment with the boot time. How can I improve the boot time.

It can be the antivirus in your system which is causing the issue. You must disable that or simply use a much lighter antivirus that can do the job. Also go in Startup and Msconfig and checkout which all applications are hooking the startup time. There can be some additional software which are causing the system slow to boot.
