Vista -> XP slow LAN transfer

Facing some problems with my brand new Vista Home Premium desktop and my network. Vista is connected to a Win XP Pro SP3 desktop via Router. When I transfer files from XP to Vista, it transfers with normal speed (limited by hard disk). But when I do the same from Vista to XP, transferring files thru LAN slows down downloading files thru internet. I think Vista is not able to understand that LAN and internet connections are separate.

I checked all cable connections, everything seems fine. Also Firewalls are Off on both systems. Then what could be the problem. Any idea?

Let me tell you that file transfer speed use to be Network: 10 MB/s max, and on Hard Disk: up to 100 MB/s. It is limited by the network over the LAN, not by the disk. Furthermore, open Task manager and check the network utilization graph and look for 'dips' (drops to 0%). Slow file transfer may also get because of these drop outs.
