RPC Server is unavailable

I dont know how all of a sudden I am getting network sharing issues that I am unable to seem to get past. Whenever I am trying to share files then I am getting an error that says - The RPC Server is Unavailable. I researched for this issue online and found a microsoft KB article but that didnt work for me. I dont recollect what I have done lately which might have caused this issue? The firewall that I am using is also disabled but still nothing seems to be working. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks

Are you able to ping the remote pc by the IP address? If you can then are you able to ping it by name? Normally, the RPC Server is not available can be caused by the following problem.

1. DNS or NetBIOS name issue,
2. Firewall or a security software.
3. Remote computer is un-available.
4. RPC service is not running.

So to resolve this you will need to ensure that the File and Printing Sharing for Microsoft Network is enabled on the many remote-management functions to work.

Yes, I have checked that I am able to ping both the IP and by name as well, that I have tried first. But thanks for the troubleshooting steps, I will try it out and let you know if it worked for me or not.
