| I have a problem with my network location
my network location on vista home laptop stays where it is but my computer with xp's home network location doesnt appear in the vista network and i get this error when trying to access my xp computer on the network with my vista laptop. however, when ever i connect my xp computer to my vista laptop with an ethernet cable and i do network set up wizard on the xp computer it temperarily connects to my network location but than when i unplug it after a while the network location on the xp computer disappears. both computers are in the same workgroup and can be seen. all i need to do is keep the xp computer in the same network location as my vista laptop so i can print through the workgroup. |

yes i can ping and what i forgot to mention was the error details. everything works fine when both computers are on the network its just that i need to keep my xp on my network. my vista laptop stays on the network just fine for some reason its the xp computer thats giving me the problem. when ever i try to access the xp computer i get this details- error code: 80070035 the network path cannot be found. if i solve this issue and keep it solved i should be able to print using shares again. | Re: I have a problem with my network location
I have had similar intermittent problems. I finally discovered the problem was in my Belkin gateway. Even though I had automatic update on the gateway/router, it was not up to date. The new firmware fixes several problems including the one that incorrectly indicates the firmware is up to date. With the new firmware, the problem has almost completely disappeared. Once in a while, one or more of the computers on the network "loses" the network but can still see and update network files. As soon as I reboot the gateway, the problem goes away. So, I suggest you try rebooting the gateway is you Belkin/Cisco gateway of router. If not, try it anyway, it's quick to do and may be the unsuspected cause. The latest Belkin firmware is on downloadable from their site |

The problem can be cause due to your isp problem or may be your wire problem. |
