Connecting Vista Home Edition to 2003 Domain Controller Server

I have purchased a Sony laptop that is running Windiws Vista recently. I am trying to connect it to a Windows 2003 domain server but without any success. The other system that are running Windows XP are easily registed on the Domain server. I am trying to manually add Domain Controller via Computer name/domain changes, but it is not detecting the Server computer. Other thing is that in my workgroup I am able to see all other pc in my vista network but not the server? So, can anyone tell me how to connect vista to domain server? Thanks.

If you have Vista Home then you will not be able to join it to the domain. But when you have created a local users and password that matches the domain username and password then you might be able to access the domain resources. If a computer is running Windows Vista Home Premium, you cannot join the computer to a domain. This behavior occurs because Windows Vista Home Premium does not support a scenario where you join a computer to a domain.
