WAN Miniport (SSTP)

I recently noticed the WAN Miniport (SSTP) protocol in Device Manager is
reporting an error. First I attempted to uninstall it, hoping that when the
system found it again it would install properly. That failed. Next, I
uninstalled and installed my network card drivers, but it was to no avail.
Any other tips? I don't know since when it's been this way, but I recently
installed and, subsequently, uinstalled Vista SP1 beta. What is the WAN
Miniport's role anyway? My Internet connection seems to be stable.

Re: WAN Miniport (SSTP)

This Miniport enables support to connect to a Windows 2008 Secure
Socket Tunneling Protocol (i.e., VPN server over SSL) server. It was
added as a part of Service Pack 1 and should have been removed when
you uninstalled the SP. Which version of the SP did you install?

Re: WAN Miniport (SSTP)

I have no idea. It was the one made available on Dec. 14. That's all I
remember really.

OK, that was RC1... I'll investigate it and report a bug...
