I recently upgraded one of my Xp desktop to Windows Vista Business edition. As we have a Windows 2003 server domain running in Office, I successfully connected my new Vista desktop to the same as well. But since then my DHCP client service has stopped running. After many restarts when it was still not running I tried starting it manually but that gave me an error message stating:
“Windows could not start the DHCP client service on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied’
As this service is log on as local service, I even tried changing the logon account but that resulted in to the following error message: "Windows could not start the DHCP client service on Local Computer. Error 1079: The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process."
All other Xp computers are working fine, don’t know whats the problem with this Vista. Somebody please help me to get rid of this annoying issue. Many thanks.
