CISCO VPN PROBLEMS ON VISTA

I am using Dell Latitude with Windows Vista on it, and I have got some problems, although I dont see that Citrix client as the single cause, since I do not run it. I am getting continuous restarts that are not solving the issue. I am running Cisco VPN 5.0 version as admin on my machine. Even after disabling other connections, besides one ethernet connection in use, and then enabling manually "Local Area Connection 2", which is for Cisco Systems VPN Adapter on my setup, I am getting the below error message:

"VPN Client: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client.
Reason 442: Failed to enable Virtual Adapter. Connection terminated on: MM DD YYYY HH:MM:SS Duration: 0 day(s), 00:00.00"

Any help would be appreciated.

Even I used to get the same error many times and to solve it I simply needed to reboot. But this problem was very much repetitive when I installed over the beta client that was posted many months back. So, after uninstalling the client and restarting, I need to verify that everything was removed. So after completing the steps and rebooting, reinstall the client and reimpot the profiles that you have.

Try the below resolution:

1. First of all try rebooting the computer and then try connecting again
2. After that Uninstall and reinstall
   - Control Panel - Programs and Features
   - Select Partners Cisco Systems VPN Client and select uninstall
   - Restart the computer
   - Then load the client again.
