Automatic Reset of Network Adapter in Vista

I am running Windows Vista on my computer and sometimes the connection to my router drops for no reason. But when the router reconnects to the internet then the computer which is linked via lan cable to the router remains offline. I found out that the only way to get it back online was to reset the network adapter by going into Control Panel >> Network and Sharing Center >> Manage Network Connections >> and then clicking on "Diagnose and Repair" on the LAN icon >> and then clicking "Reset Network Adapter". What I do is that I leave the computer alone for sometime for downloads and for this I want a program or a script that will automatically do this things when the connection drops. Thanks for any assitance.

It could be an outdated network router that may not function correctly when you use it together with new networking features in Windows Vista. Windows Vista uses a new network stack and provides new networking features that may not be fully compatible with an outdated network router. For example, Windows Vista uses UPnP-certified standards much more than Microsoft Windows XP. For more information, visit this website - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932134/en-us
