    Lan "Unidentified network" can't rename

I recently installed Windows Vista RC1 on one of my desktops. My other desktop is still running with Windows XP. I’ve networked them both with each other and can access shared files on both computers. But the problem am facing is on local network my lan name displays as "Unidentified network." In order to change it I need to go to Network and Sharing Center but cannot change it to Home. Every time I restart the computer it change back to Public profile and I need to change it again to Private in order to share files. Is there any permanent fix for the same?

Re: Lan "Unidentified network" can't rename

Even am facing similar problem with my Vista and Xbox 360. The problem occurs while connecting my Xbox direct to my PC so that it can connect to my wireless network via Internet Connection Sharing. Just like you even I need to change it to private every time i want to share media over it. Did you found any permanent solution?
