| Lan "Unidentified network" can't rename
Vista RC1. My LAN (crossover cable ) is working I can see the other computer(Win XP SP2) and share files. The Lan name is "Unidentified network" on local network. I can chance with customize in Network and sharing center the local network to Private profile but I can't rename the network to Home. Every time I reboot the local network is back to Public profile. Then I have to chance it to Private before I can share files, and again I can't chance the name of the network. I use dailup to connect to the internet. Can anybody help. Jan |

| Re: Lan "Unidentified network" can't rename I have this exact same problem, connecting my Xbox direct to my PC so that it can connect to my wireless network via Internet Connection Sharing. It all works except i have to set it to private every time i want to share media over it... anyone help? -- vaderag |
