The first thing you have to do is to set up a small home network which is basiacally done to connect the two computers together with the router. Go to the network connections and there is a section that says: "Add new home network", click there and follow the steps, it is quite simple. Once you've done that on both the computer then just connect the router with your PC through an Ethernet cable, the connection should start automatically. This is possible of course if your router has an Ethernet port, otherwise you should buy a different router or access point or a simple switch or even to network the two computers in a way that takes advantage of the internet line.

First you need to choose a router. Set up an Internet access point in the router. As you can imagine, due to the large range of these devices, you can not write the exact instructions for configuring the router. But there are highlights and points to consider when setting up the equipment.
    • Be sure to set a complex password to access the router.
    • Set a static or dynamic IP-address of the router, depending on the requirements of the provider.

Plug the cable into the Internet WAN-port on the router. Connect the other computers in the LAN-free ports on the router by network cables. If your router supports only one direct connection to a computer via a network cable, buy a Wi-Fi adapter for your computer. Set it to the drivers and software, then connect to the router via wireless Wi-Fi.

The network cable is loose or disconnected. To resolve this problem, verify that the network cable is securely connected to the correct locations on your computer and network device. Some system comes with several network cards and if you dont know where to connect the network cable to your computer, see your computer documentation or contact the computer manufacturer. The network cable might be faulty or damaged. Examine the cable for breaks or damaged connectors. Test the network connection using a network cable that works.

The network cable is plugged in securely at both ends, but you can not turn on the device on the network. Verify that all network hardware is connected to power, if necessary, and is turned on. To resolve this problem, you may need to reset the network device. Some network devices have a dedicated button to reset. For other network, devices must be turned off, wait a few minutes. The network connection may be USB and so connected to a USB hub. It can occur on some USB hubs because of power constraints. The congested and non-powered hubs may not supply sufficient power. To resolve this problem, connect the network device to the USB port of your computer.

May be you have got the wrong network cable and therefore you are getting this issue and so i would like to suggest you buy the proper network cable. If you use the crossover cable then it will not work with the normal network cable and to solve this issue you should have proper network cable that works.

The network cable is not attached to the correct network device. To resolve this problem, verify that the network cable is plugged into the correct port on the network device. The network signal may be lost if you connect the cable to the uplink port on a hub, a switch or a router instead of a regular port. Some hubs, switches and routers disable the port next to uplink port when it is in use. To resolve this problem, you need to verify that the port next to the uplink port is empty.

if your network adapter supports the power saving mode then make sure you have made check mark on the:
Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
If the network adapter supports this option, which is available in the Power Management tab of the Properties of the network card then to resolve this problem, disable this option in the Power Management tab.

Just follow the below steps and after that make sure your getting the issue or not:
    1. Click on Start, choose Run, type ncpa.cpl, and then choose OK.
    2. Click the right mouse button on the Local Area Connection (LAN), and then choose Properties.
    3. In the General tab, choose Configuration.
    4. In the dialog box that appears, choose the Advanced tab.
    5. Property list, choose Media Type or Link Speed and Duplex or something similar.
    6. choose a specific bandwidth value in the list, then choose OK.
    7. Close the Network Connections dialog box.
    8. Test the network connection.
    9. If these steps do not solve your problem, repeat steps 1 to 5, then select a different value in step 6 until you have tested all the values.

If you are using a PCI network adapter, the problem may be linked to resources. To resolve this problem, physically move the network card in a PCI slot adjacent to it and restart the computer. After restarting the computer, the Add New Hardware Wizard detects and installs the network card. If you do not know how to install the network card, contact your computer manufacturer or consult the documentation for your network card that will help.
