Unidentified network

Unidentified network

So yesterday I lost connection thinking it was the laptop i tried switching off the wireless card and deleting teh settings however it did not help. I only realised i had just lost connection completely. Now every time i connect i get unidentified ntework limited connectivity. I really need the internet.

On my home network, I have to power-cycle the router/access point to clear
that issue.

I also found out that my ip address is 162 instead of teh normal 192. I tried connecting to the router through lan and succeded. But wireless still doesnt work.

An IP address beginning with "169..." indicates DHCP (usually a router
function) is not assigning an address. Do as Sinner suggested - turn router
(and modem if used) off for a few minutes. IP address should be in "192..."
range.

Hi
Check/adjust the Wireless from scratch.
Disable the security in the Wireless Router, and make sure that the Wireless
card is configured correctly.
This page was written for Win XP, menu locations are different in Vista but
you can apply the principle.
