Net Send and Msg

I understand that Net Send was replaced with Msg in Vista Business and
Ultimate, but not Home. I am wondering if there is an application that
will allow you to send and receive Net Send messages for Vista Home
Premium. Surprisingly I am having a lot of trouble finding a program
for this that works. I have tried Win Sent, but upon trying to send a
message, I get an Access Violation message, and the program crashes, or
just does not work. I'd rather not have to pay over $100 to upgrade
Windows to do something that a program should be able to do easily.

"Net Send GUI is plain instant LAN messenger for easy communication. It
uses *proprietary network protocol* which one is based on TCP/IP, and it
is *not compatible with Microsoft NET SEND.* But the Net Send GUI fully
compatible with Winpopup LAN Messenger, OfficePopup and etc. Program's
window contains two parts. The top one is the list of contacts and the
bottom one is the message field. The list of contacts is formed
automatically when the Net Send GUI is launched and you can refresh it
any time if you press Refresh button."

The title contradicts the description. I was looking for a program
that is fully compatible with Net Send and Msg. For example, I want to
be able to receive a message sent from the command line of a Windows XP
computer. I used a different program (which only supports sending) to
send one to myself, and Fomine did not receive it. Maybe I am
misunderstanding something.

Hi
If a free program can be installed on the computer and thus insures
compatibility and GUI makes it easy for every one.
If you have special demands (like the XP command line) keep searching there
is a lot of other free Netsend type of programs out there.
Example, http://www.cezeo.com/products/netsend/
If you can not find any you need to upgrade the version of the OS.
