Internet connected but not working on Vista

Internet connected but not working on Vista


Hi,

If someone can help me, it would be great. Internet was running okay
until this evening. Below is what I get from running ipconfig /all. My
firewall has been disabled and another laptop running on the same
network is fine. It's just my new laptop with Vista 32-bit thats giving
me problem.

I don't see any issues with the TCP/IP. Can you ping 10.0.0.1? If yes, can
you ping 4.2.2.1? if yes, can you ping chicagotech.net? Please post back
with the results.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I had no problem pinging 10.0.0.1 but pinging any
other website or ip would not happen. I solved the problem by resetting
my modem, and not merely switch off and switch on again but unplugging
every cables and reattaching after 10 minutes. That works, but that
seems to be the only solution that works. But it also happens twice a
day - the connecting issue..

Thinking about it, daily massive resetting shouldn't be the way to go.
Do you think the problem is with my router or my laptop? Again, it
happens onl on my new Vista machine.
