| Cannot detect networking hardware
I've looked all over the net, and I am considering Geek Squad, but I'm a little hesitant shelling out $80. I got a preowned Vista Gateway computer from my uncle, who said he decommissioned it. I don't have a clue what he did, but apparently I am now missing my networking driver.. at first I couldn't connect to the Internet. It kept saying there was no networking hardware detected or installed. I looked in my device manager, and there's no network anything in there... I also discovered this morning that I cannot delet anything. Once it begins the process of sending the file(s) to the recycle bin, it goes nowhere; the transfer speed remains at 0 kbps/sec and never changes. I can't delete anything and I can't use the Internet, both problems I need to resolve in a hurry. Last edited by Bullfrog07 : 15-09-2008 at 01:05 AM. Reason: premature posting |

Hi You can obtain the network card's drivers from Gateway Support. However given your description you are probably better of reformatting and reinstalling the OS. As for Network configuration this can Help, http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html Jack (MS, MVP-Networking) "Bullfrog07" <Bullfrog07.3fqs3c@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:Bullfrog07.3fqs3c@DoNotSpam.com... > > I've looked all over the net, and I am considering Geek Squad, but I'm a > little hesitant shelling out $80.
