Network icon missing from taskbar since August 2008 security updates

I am running Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 and recently installed all the August 2008 security updates on my computer. After that, I cannot see the network icon anymore in the taskbar? I have restarted the computer many times, but still cant see it? What is the problem that is going on in my computer, anyone can help?

Can you try to right click on the Taskbar and then select Properties. After that go to the 'Notification Area' tab and then put a check mark in the network box. If there is already a check mark on it, then try to uncheck and then recheck it again. This problem will be solved when you will uncheck, then apply, then check mark again and then apply.
