If that doesn't help, we need the entire error messages, not just the error numbers, to offer much more help. We may also need to know what if any antivirus programs you have, and whether you have ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program on that computer, since some of them cause assorted problems in Windows Mail. |

You can't access the Hotmail/Live POP server unless you pay for the Premium service... are you? You can access the free Hotmail/Live accounts using the newer Windows Live Mail. -- Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "nayuk" <nayuk@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E7F2F50A-F7AA-4708-AF01-17899125EC17@microsoft.com... > When I add new email account to windows mail it's error come in. First of all, it appears that your AVG antivirus is interfering with your email. That causes nothing but problems. Chances are, you installed AVG antivirus using its default install option. If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to forego installing the troublesome email scanning module. Do you have a paid Hotmail Plus account? Free Hotmail and Live.com accounts don't get POP access. If yours is a paid account, use these special settings: http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!171.entry Free accounts are accommodated by Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "nayuk" <nayuk@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E7F2F50A-F7AA-4708-AF01-17899125EC17@microsoft.com... > When I add new email account to windows mail it's error come in.
