You probably need to log in to your email server using webmail instead of Windows Mail, delete those two messages and perhaps also the first message after them. If that doesn't help, we need the entire error messages, not just the error numbers, to offer much more help. We may also need to know what if any antivirus programs you have, and whether you have ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program on that computer, since some of them cause assorted problems in Windows Mail. |

You can't access the Hotmail/Live POP server unless you pay for the Premium service... are you? You can access the free Hotmail/Live accounts using the newer Windows Live Mail. |

First of all, it appears that your AVG antivirus is interfering with your email. That causes nothing but problems. Chances are, you installed AVG antivirus using its default install option. If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to forego installing the troublesome email scanning module. |

Free Hotmail and Live.com accounts don't get POP access. If yours is a paid account, use these special settings: http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!171.entry Free accounts are accommodated by Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview |

I've checked in the link you gave me but nothing seems to be working. Any other ideas on where i need to check? I remember using my broadband last week even though i'm connected with the office's LAN, it's only after that i've been having this email problem. Pls advice, thanks :) |

That solution really worked :). I've disabled my Avast for 10 min and automatically all my emails can be downloaded. I've changed some settings before enabling it. Thank a lot i really appreciate it. |
