I am using Vista Home Premium laptop and Windows Live Mail as my default client. I installed live mail just two days ago, earlier I was using Windows Mail but as it was creating many problems because of Norton Antivirus on my system, I quit it and started using Live Mail.
The problem am facing is when I try sending any email, it wont get send and instead I get this error:
“The host 'smtp.gmail.net.om' could not be found. Please verify that you haveentered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Headphones - Brand New - $225 (Parker, CO)',
Account: 'Gmail', Server: 'smtp.gmail.net.om', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D”
I’m not sure if my settings are incorrect, you can just confirm the same here:
Gmail:
My incoming mail server is a 'IMAP' server
Incoming mail (IMAP) : imap.gmail.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) : smtp.gmail.com
Hotmail:
My incoming mail server is a 'POP3' server
Incoming mail (POP3) : pop3.hotmail.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) : smtp.hotmail.com
I using this laptop on WiFi zone, so there is no specific ISP for me hence I don’t think the problem would be from there end. Can you guys tell me what is the problem with Live Mail?
