Ok is this something that worked and now stopped or has it not worked at all? This sounds like there is a setting problem in how the mail servers in WinMail are set. I would double ck w/your ISP, I assume that is Comcast. Some providers require certain things cked others don't. Good luck. Comcast has started requiring users to change their outgoing port numbers, but has been rather poor at telling their users in advance. <http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/index.jsp?faq=EmailOutlook18914&cookieattempt=1> |

This company? http://www.qwest.com/internethelp/opsystems/windows/ If you can't read .pdf files, download and install Adobe Reader: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Do not install the Google Toolbar program unless you want more problems in Windows Mail. If you need more help, right click on your error message and copy all of it to your next message. Your message isn't very clear. Do you need help with the Windows Mail program? |

| RE: Windows Mail "send" error message - need help to repair
I just started having the same error message. My Windows Vista Home version of mail worked just fine until two days ago when I was no longer able to send any emails out. I have five emails that are now stuck and cannot get mailed out. I can receive but cannot send. I am able to use Webmail through Comcast just not the Windows mail. Have you straightened out your problem yet? Have you tried getting some help from Comast? |

Apparently this is a Comcast problem. I had the exact same error message when all of a sudden I could no longer send out emails from Vista mail. I fixed it by following the directions as specified at the Comcast Website that addresses this specific problem. The Outgoing Mail SMTP has to be changed from 25 to 587. Also it is important to check the My server requires authentication box and have the same settings as incoming mail. This worked. The Comcast website was very helpful. Check it out! |

I am having the same problem. My yahoo.com email works fiine, but am having problems sending pictures from windows, my web cam, and my hotmail (Windows)email. I keep getting "server pop3 un known." I remember setting something the first day but forgot where it was. If you find the answer let me know. This is week 2 with my new labtop and want to learn the right way. Tried calling Microsolf, but they wanted 69 dollors to tell me the answer. |

Star a new thread and post and describe all error messages as per verbatim. You are hijacking some other persons post and getting an answer to yours will not be forthcoming as fast . So start a new post of your own That's not the same problem. If you need a workaround for that problem, please start a new thread. |
