Can't import outlook express messages into Windows Mail. Help?

I'm trying to import outlook express files (.dbx) into windows mail by doing:
(file, import, messages, microsoft outlook express 6, import mail from an OE6
store directory, browse). but when i select the folder where all the .dbx
messages are, i get a message "no items match your search" and a window pop
up saying "no messages can be found in this folder or another application is
running that has the required files open. please select another folder or try
closing applications that may have files open." does anybody know what the
problem is? thanks! fabiana

Sounds like you didn't copy the file called Folder.dbx - without that file,
WM doesn't recognise the folder as an OE message store.

See the appropriate section on this site:

Particularly:
3. Go to Edit | Select all in Windows Explorer and select all the dbx files.
Then right click on the selection and choose Properties and ensure that the
read only attribute of the files is unchecked.
