| Importing dbx files into Windows Mail
My old computer died. I was able to pull all the dbx files (from OE 6), including folders.dbx, from the old hard drive. All dbx files have read-only unselected and they are all in a single folder on my new hard drive. Using the correct path, I am able to go through the Windows Mail import procedure. I am able to choose all folders (inbox, sent, drafts, deleted, etc) to import. I get no error messages. When the import process is complete, the folders appear (but no custom folders [e.g. Billy's E-Mails]) in Windows Mail but they are empty; there are no messages. I've tried this a number of times, always with the same result. Any ideas how to deal with this? Thanks! |

Try opening the store folder and WM side by side (resize windows), and drag and drop the messages to the folders, create new WM folders as needed. -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP : Mail. [DTS] UK. |

Thanks. It won't let me do that. Says "file does not exist or another application is using it." If I try to drop the files instead of the entire folder, it thinks I want to send an email with all those dbx files as attachments. |
