Migrate mails & folders from Outlook 2002 to Windows Live mail

Two days I bought a new laptop with Windows Vista. Earlier I was running Windows XP with Outlook 2002 as my main email client. Now the problem is am not able to transfer my pst file from old PC to the new one via easy transfer. Am trying to import my outlook pst to live mail.

Somebody please tell me how that can be done, I want to get those pst imported in Vista live mail as it contains various important stuffs. Thanks in advance for all your helps.

First of all PSt files are unique to Outlook only. I don’t think they will work in Live Mail. Also have installed Outlook on this new laptop? If yes, why don’t you import them to Outlook itself. That can be done easily.

Or if you want to have them in Live Mail only, then first you will need to Import Outlook messages to Outlook Express. Do this on your old XP computer. Once imported to Outlook Express, create a DBX file. That is actually the backup created in Express. This DBX files can be imported to Windows Live easily and they work fine.

As far as i know pst cannot be imported to Vista Mail. You will need to install Outlook on vista and import the same.
