Trouble sending mail with Vista /Windows Mail

Below is the error message I receive intermittently when sending with my
laptop using Vista / Windows Mail, I never have this problem when sending
with my desktop which uses Windows XP / Outlook Express. Same ISP so I
don't understand how it could be the settings and I have discussed this with
my ISP months ago. It comes and goes ! Frustrating

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was ( the email address ) Subject 'Fw: test',
Account: 'pop.phnx.qwest.net', Server: 'pop.phnx.qwest.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '553 relaying denied.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Re: Trouble sending mail with Vista /Windows Mail

This usually means you are using a connection to the server that crosses
from
one internet provider's equipment to another's before it gets to the server.
Such
connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for spammers, and
users aren't always told about changes in this blockage.

Check if Qwest allows you to use a different port instead:

These instructions were written for modem users, but should offer
some help to broadband users as well.

Re: Trouble sending mail with Vista /Windows Mail

Are you connected to the same network as the desktop computer when this
happens?
Since a laptop can be carried anywhere, it can connect wirelessly to other
networks.
The mail server on those other networks don't want you to use it unless you
are a paying customer.
