Windows Vista Default Mail Client is not properly installed

I dont know for sure but I guess that I have deleted on of my windows mail programs. I am able to send and receive mail from windows mail but if I clikc on email address from the internet then it says that it cannot do that because the default mail client is not properly installed. When I go into the Control Panel and then to the default programs, I can only see Windows Mail (news). What else shall I look to solve this case?

You can try to do a System Restore to a previous time when you were not facing this problem and all will be back to normal. You can open System Restore by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

You can try to reinstate Windows Mail entry to the default programs listing by following the below steps:

    1. You have to first of all download mailclients.reg from the below attachments
    2. After that you have to right-click mailclients.reg and choose Merge
    3. Now, if you getting some window for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation
    4. After that click Yes to continue and then the problem will be solved.
