    trying to import .pst files from Outlook 2000 to Vista Windows Mail

    I was using outlook 2000. I have saved my .pst file which was created in outlook 2000 in my external drive. When I am trying to import this file in windows mail I am getting error message. Can you please tell me how I can import the files ?

    Note: My new OS is Windows Vista.

    To import/export you need to have outlook installed in your machine. Since you are using vista you need to install outlook 2003 or 2007 install in your machine. I would suggest you to back to Windows XP and outlook 2000, import your contacts in outlook express, export contacts as a comma separate values test file and then import in windows contacts.

    Or even you can find a program to export it.

    Did you try to install the trial version of Office 2007 to import office contact to your Windows Mail ?

    From what i know, Windows Mail cannot directly import e-mail messages from a .pst file created by Outlook from Microsoft Office. You should refer this for proper procedure Import .pst files from Outlook 2000 to Vista Windows Mail
