| Import email from Windows Mail to Outlook 2003
I'm trying to move email from Vista Windows Mail to fully updated version of Outlook 2003, cannot seem to find a way to do this. Is there a way to convert the Windows Mail store into a format that Outlook 2003 will recognise? |

After installing Outlook open WinMail and go to File | Export | Messages | Microsoft Exchange All you need to do is load outlook, click file, import mail settings, and it will allow you to transfer over settings, old emails and addresses. |

I went back to an XP Pro environment from Windows Vista Home Premium. Is there any way to convert or import Windows Mail contacts from a Vista world into MS Outlook 2002 in an XP Pro world? Importing doesn't seem to work. I have a copy of the Windows Mail Contacts folder on my desktop. I have a similar task I am trying to accomplish...that is migrate from Windows Mail to Outlook2000. I have both installed on a Vista machine. WinMail has been working for a long time and Outlook2000 appears to also be working. When I attempt to export messages (to Exchange) from WinMail I get an error message of "The Export could not be performed. Your default MAPI store could not be opened". I have been Googling for over an hour now and cannot find any info on what I need to do in order to address this error. As soon as I get the export from WinMail to work I assume I will be able to import from Outlook and have success. |

On the Vista computer, open Windows Mail. File - Export - Windows Contacts - CSV (Comma separated Values) save the file In Outlook: File - Import and Export - Import from another program or file - Comma Separated Values (Windows) find the file winmail does not exist in windows 7 ...... wont work before you blow away your old os. export messages to a comma seperated file. once you install outlook 03 import from comma seperated files. If you fouled this up by thinking that outlook would import from microsoft mail, shame on you. Go back and do it again The solution is very simple. Outlook 2003 doesn't known Windows Mail, but Windows Mail Knows Outlook. Simply export mail from Windows Mail to outlook. You need to install outlook on the machine where you want to export your mail. |

There isn't an easy way to do this. What operating system is the new PC? You might be able to install Windows Live mail and then import from the Windows Mail in Vista. Then transfer the message store to the new computer and then install WLM there and then import the transferred messages into WLM and then Export from WLM to Outlook, but it may not work for Outlook 2003. If the new PC is using XP, then you could use OE and then export from OE to Outlook also. |

Never link directly to an executable file. Give the download page so it can be checked out for authenticity and usage directions. |
