Outlook Web Access in IE7

I use Outlook Web Access through IE7 and it works great. But when i want to
create a mail. I only see a red cross where I used to type my message...
Is there a patch for this?

It's the exact same problem I'm having. I thought first it's IE7's security
thing doing something. I've tried adding the Exchange Web to the trusted
sites list but still no go.

It appears that you are attempting opening a message set to compose in HTML
format and a graphic you wish to have inserted into your stationery is not
found, thus presenting you with a red 'x' within a box. If you set Plain
Text as the default for outgoing messages, the problem should resolve
itself. (Or locate the desired graphic file and change the file path to it
in your stationery template).

I don't think this is the case. First, there is no stationery involved here.
The writing area itself is the whole image with the red "x".

Can you type anything in the remainder of the Compose Message window? It
would be interesting to see a test mail which you could send to me, by just
clicking on the Reply button vs. the Reply Group button on the Toolbar. The
email address is valid.

I think you are not understanding it correctly. I'm working online in IE7,
so not offline, there is no option for the Text Format (Plain or HTML).
I can type everywhere and even send messages correctly but the area for
typing the message itself is not visible (red cross)
But, when looking through the online option's I came upon the item
(E-mailsecurity) where I was able to install the latest S/MIME-element.
I did this and now everything looks Okay, until I want to send my message.
Then iexplorer.exe crashes and nothing is send at all...
I will now install RC2, I'll tell you the difference concerning this
problem...

Nope,
RC2 hasn't helped, the program still 'hangs' when I press the "send"
button...
Everything works allright in firefox on the same vista system...

Hi,

This has to do with a security update which is needed on your owa server.
Older versions of OWA use active-x for editing the mail. IE7 blocks it by
default. After installing the hotfix on your owa server (your owa
administrator could do it), owa will use iframes instead of active-x and you
can again edit mails.

I installed Vista business and use OWA without any problems for 1 week.
Then I started getting a red cross in the mail compose area (entire thing - I
can't type anything). I have XP on another partition and it works fine on it.

Please shed some light.

I am having the same problem. I am using OWA on a Vista Home Premium
version, hoewever I get the same results on Vista Pro @ work. It also works
fine on my XP machines. I have 2 different OWA mailboxes that I have this
problem with.

I'm new to Vista and have the 'Exact' some issue. I can not type into the
compose portion of the mailbox. The red x is all I see. As I can send it, I
did to another my other account. And the x comes up as a ? mark symbol.
I've spent all day on the phone with microsoft and Windows Live without
resoloution. Has any one figured out what the fix is?
