| Windows 7
I have read when Windows 7 is launced on Oct. 22, Windows Mail will no longer be used. Do I have to down load Windows Live Mail program. Also do I need to download this before Windows 7 is available? Would appreciate a reply. Marilyn |

" When " is entirely up to you. I would do it now, just to get yourself familiarized with how Windows Live Mail works. There are differences you need to get used to. t-4-2 "Marilyn" <mplew@verizon.net> wrote in message news:eSzmZnnTKHA.508@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > I have read when Windows 7 is launced on Oct. 22, Windows Mail will no > longer be used. | Re: Windows 7
Windows Mail will continue to function on Vista for the foreseeable future, so unless you plan to upgrade to Windows 7, you don't need to do anything. That said, there is an advantage to switching to Windows Live Mail now, because you never know when you might have to go to a Windows 7 computer with little or no warning. -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/def...le/vandermolen "Marilyn" <mplew@verizon.net> wrote in message news:eSzmZnnTKHA.508@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >I have read when Windows 7 is launced on Oct. 22, Windows Mail will no > longer be used. | Re: Windows 7 Hello Marilyn, It's true. Windows 7 does not come with a email client included. You can use any email client program that you like that supports Windows 7, but Windows Live Mail is a great free choice. If you select Windows Live Mail, the tutorials below will helps how you how to export your current Windows Mail messages and contacts before installing Windows 7, then how to import them back into Windows Live Mail in Windows 7.
