| Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Let it be known that if you purchase the above OS, you will not be able to transfer any of your e-mail messages or contacts from your old 32 bit system to the new 64 bit system. Even if you attempt to download Outlook Express, it is 32 bit and will not download and instal, therefore, you can't imnport your Outlook files into Outlook Express to convert their file extension to something compatible with Windows Mail, which is the new e-mail program. OH, before I forget, I want to thank Microsoft for the laser/wireless mouse and keyboard configuration. My Device Manager does not recognize the keyboard as a wireless keyboard, instead it ;ists it as a "HID", (Human Input Device", or dome crap like that, and my mouse and keyboard continually freeze. No help from Dell either. From another dis-satisfied Dell/Microsoft customer. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Do you have any idea what you are talking about. Install Outlook and then you can transfer the Outlook pst files directly in to Windows Mail by doing the following as posted by Hal Hostetler MS MVP > Good news, maybe....I ended up installing Outlook on my new computer and then > went into Windows Mail and tried the below again and no longer received the > error message I noted below. Can't be done. In order to download Outlook, you have to download IE6. Attempted that and it would not download, because IE6 is 32 bit, not 64 bit. Sorry Dave-firstoff, I know the difference between the two. Secondly, the Windows Compatibilty page shows that Outlook Express and Outlook are not compatible with the 64 bit Vista program. They may be for the 32 bit, but not 64. Also, I am not running Windows Live either as that is not installed on my system. You are talking complete nonsense in respect of both Outlook & Express, accepting Express cannot be installed on Vista (32 or 64) "RobertV" <RobertV@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:40BE33C6-BA73-47F2-A279-7F240849DB3A@microsoft.com... > Sorry Dave-firstoff, I know the difference between the two.
