Re: Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

That problem can be caused by interference from an antivirus program.
Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

Norton can run without problems for months and for a year and all of a sudden this
will happen. Norton is one of the AV programs that is known for this.

Uninstall Norton using the Norton Removal Tool below and then re-install it without
the email integration(scanning)
Just by disabling the scanning in Norton will not work. You need to do the above

Few things are absolutely definite. It's my best guess based on working
with Windows Mail problems every day for the past 29 months.

Re: Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Have seen a couple of people complaining about charter accounts so it is
always possible that a server went down somewhere, however a big ISP
like charter would usually fix that as soon as they find out about it.
You can't rule it out but Gary is right, Norton, MacAfee are both known
(Notorious) for causing problems and I've even seen AVG do it. This is
even more likely if you have email scanning set on.
