Gmail doesn't use port 25 or port 110. Follow their setup instructions: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...y?answer=86383 -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Bundy" <Bundy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F27B83CE-8716-49A0-9ECA-2E9BED9285B4@microsoft.com... > Hi there, > > Can someone please help. If you had, you wouldn't be using those port numbers or SSL settings. The settings you have used will not work. So, start here: For POP: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...n&answer=86382 For IMAP: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...n&answer=77696 |

I had the same problem until I figured out that you have to change the server from POP3 to IMAP, enter imap.gmail.com, smtp.gmail.com, next, Enter your full email address and password, and click Next. Click through (the checkbox is optional), then click Finish. AFTER THAT, go back into Windows Mail, Select Tools > your new IMAP account, then select Properties > Advanced. Enter 465 in Outgoing mail (SMTP) AND 993 in Incoming mail (IMAP) check both secure connection boxes, and click Apply. Click Close. This should solve your problem.
