RE: error message 0x800CCC0E

This is the message I am receiving when I try to send an email. It has been
very mind boggling why I cannot send email, but can receive. Never happened
in Outlook Express. Please help!

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

Start you own thread and do not hijack somebody else's. Include the whole and
complete error message not just the line you posted ( Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78)

You left out a significant part of your error message, without which we
can't troubleshoot your issue. The missing part should say something like:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
