Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no additional protection and even Symantec says it's not necessary: Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...02111812533106 Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email |

Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here. We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message. Which antivirus are you running? Some of them cause problems with Windows Mail over time. |

Error Code (0x800CCC90) Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. -ERR Error: Can't create the file...C:\ProgramData\avg9\Emc\Queue\Temp\797CB1533.emc' The problem goes away when I turn OFF Scan Incoming Emails. I have no problems with (3) other Email accounts for the same ISP. I triple checked all the settings between all the accounts and found no issues. What do I need to check next ??? Then keep the email; scanning off which should be done from the beginning |

Your AVG antivirus was probably installed with its default install option, which installs an email scanning module. Just disabling its email scanning may not be a sufficient remedy. Uninstall AVG, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to unselect installing its troublesome email scanning module. |
