| Troubleshoot windows mail
I'm unable to send emails in my windows mail. When i select 'send/receive' a pop-message comes up telling me: The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider. The rejected e-mail address was 'natanyafeigin@gmail.com'. Subject 'Re: hi', Account: 'pop3.mweb.co.za', Server: 'smtp.vodacom.co.za', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 5.7.1 <natanyafeigin@gmail.com>: Recipient address rejected: Access denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 What can i do to fix this problem? |

It seems a lot of us having this problem sinc this morning, cant find out why.... When you got that error message was your Internet connection being supplied by Vodacom? If yes: Make sure you have send authentication enabled. Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers. The box for "My server requires authentication" must be checked. If you would like some custom help: Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here. We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message. In "Details" view right click on a column and add "Given Name". The message could not be sent. The rejected e-mail address was 'mquandt@wi.rr.com'. I checked that email address and his mail server said: "Invalid mailbox: " It appears your recipient may have closed his account. Are you able to send mail to other recipients? In the Contacts folder: Change the View to "Details". Right-click on the "Name" column heading, click on "First Name", then click on "Last Name" Click on the "Last Name" heading to sort by that, or click on "First Name" heading to sort by that. In a Create Mail window: Click on To: Click on the "Name" column heading... it cycles thru 4 different sorts In the Contact Properties: click on the down arrow at the end of the Full Name box You have an illegal period after the @ symbol |

All the people in my "Contacts" are listed by first name, last name. How do I get them converted to last name, first name? Thanks. This gets me 1/2 way there. The contacts list comes up with last name first when I start create mail - that helps. But when I'm at the inbox and click contacts, they're still listed by first name first. Is there a fix for that? I am having the same problem. It started about 4 days ago. Does anyone have any suggestions? this is my error message: The message could not be sent.
