Please supply the complete error messages that WM gives when it fails to
send.

Lori,
Your ISP/Mail service may have recently started blocking access to Outgoing Mail
servers on Port:25. Try changing the setting to 587 or 465. Also for the
Outgoing Server, you may need to check the box for SSL/TSL connection.

On the Advance tab, under Account Properties, change these settings. Also double
check the ISP/Mail service web page, and check the settings there.

Re: Suddenly can't send email, but can receive.

I am having this issue as well. I am out of town at the moment and connected
to someone else's wireless hub, but I still can't 'send'.
this is the message I got when trying to send another test email:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'wtf', Account: 'Cynth
email', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL):
No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I tried using the 587 and 465 as recommended by Rich/rerat from the original
25, but it's still not working. Does this have anything to do with the fact
that I'm on another network? I was able to send two days ago, but then not
yesterday or today.

any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Suddenly can't send email, but can receive.

Different problem, yes, yours is most likely the fact that your MC s
trying to use a Bellsouth SMTP server and you are not on Bellsouth's
network, so for all it knows you are a spammer and it won't let you.
Easy fix may be to change to the network you are on, mail.bellsouth.net
is you home server, just note that and then change it in your account
settings to mail.whatimusingnow.com or whatever it is called. Post back
and someone here might just know or be able to guess it.

Lori,

I am having this same problem issues. Started recently when I am using away
from home using a wireless secured network. If you have, please send me the
resolution so I can try it.

Thanks

..
Looks like this web page has something to do with the problem.

http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip....submit=Lookup

It appears to say that someone (but not clear if it's you, your internet
provider, your email provider, or the web site you're trying to reach)
has a problem with either a virus or some spyware running on their
machine.

What if any antivirus and antispyware programs do you have, and
what happens if you run them? Note that, for me, such programs often
take around 2 hours to run.

If you don't know of any such programs you have, try this web-based
program first - overnight looks like a good time to run it:

http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Note that it is NOT a good idea to have more than one antivirus
program installed on your machine at the same time. Web-based
antivirus programs run without being installed on your machine,
though.

However, it is safe to have more than one antispyware program
installed on your machine at the same time, and I use these three
(the free versions of each seem to be sufficient):

http://www.lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...r/default.mspx

If you can't find it on your machine, ask your internet provider for
help finding out if that's your machine or theirs, and if either, using this
website to report when the problem if corrected.

http://www.spamhaus.org/

Make sure you do NOT install a fake antispyware program called
MS AntiSpyware 2009 unless you want to create more problems.
See here for why:

http://www.spywareremove.com/removeM...yware2009.html

This site also offers a web-based antispyware scan, if you need one.

I wouldn't be surprised if you need to invite someone nearby, but
knowing more about computers, to come over and help you run
these antivirus and antispyware programs.

Re: Suddenly can't send email, but can receive.

Per http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=217.171.129.67
you or someone on the same network as you has been blacklisted
for allowing their computer to be taken over by a spambot.
That IP belongs to three.co.uk, which is probably the connection
you are using.

Consider using a different SMTP server if this problem continues.
