windows mail can send not receive

My husband is having trouble with his e-mail. It has worked fine until
recently. I have browsed the posts here, downloaded the "fix" and checked
settings. I am able to send e-mail, but now am not receiving any... I'm
not getting error messages at this moment - just not able to receive after
testing several times. I would appreciate any help you might offer.

RE: windows mail can send not receive

I looked up setting on home computer (this one is a laptop) and changed the
incoming to 110 and outgoing to 587 and I got this massage
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'labbyday@yahoo.com'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'Home', Server: 'smtp.embarqmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '554 Authentication Failed, must login', Port: 587, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find WAB DLL
