error# 0x800CCC0E

I don't understand this error. My wife and I both have windows mail and they
are configured the same way. One day I'll get this error and another day she
will get it. We try to connect later and it works. The error is "The
connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.charter.net', Server:
'mail.charter.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E." Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Can
anyone tell me if it is on my end or charters end? Sometimes we can connect
and sometimes we can't.

Easy Fix

Disable your Anti Virus from scanning your in and outgoing emails. The best way to
do this is to uninstall your AV and then re-install without the email integration
(scanning). This is done because most AV programs when disabling the email scanning
option will not hold otherwise
