Can Windows Live Mail Work With Word 2007 to Send To Mail Recipien

I’m having a laptop with Windows Vista 64bit OS and Office Home Edition 2007. Recently I started using Windows Live Mail and quit Vista Mail. Now the problem am facing is I am not able to send opened Word 2007 document to anyone by clicking on the “Send To” link in word toolbar. I used to mail documents directly from here when I was using Windows Mail. Isn’t that feature in Windows Live mail?

If it is not then pleas let me know if there is any method to make it work in Windows Live Mail as well. It is very frustrating and annoying to save documents, than attach and then send. Please help.

Do you have Outlook installed on your system? Because Outlook use to have something called MAPI handler that gets installed along with the outlook installation and it is required by MS Word in order to send a document via the default mail client. So if its not installed, install it.

Even I am facing similar kind of problem on Windows 7 with Office 2007 H&S. I am using Windows Live Mail as my default email. Now whenever I click the Office Button > Send Email, I get the following error instead of document getting send:

“Logon Failed. You Must log on to Microsoft Exchange to Access your address book. Error Code: "unspecified Error"

Someone suggest me to install SP2 for Office 2007. Well I did the same but still the same problem. Any working solution for this?

Hey guys, just try these steps and see if you are able to make it work:

    1. Go to Start and type “regedit”, press Enter.
    2. Navigate to the following location
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Client > Click on Mail
    3. Here on the right pane you must see (Default) REG_SZ Windows Live Mail
    4. If there is nothing named “Windows Live Mail” than simply right click on (Default) and click on Modify and in the Value Data box, type Windows Live Mail
    5. Double click this created value and name the String Value as: (Default)
Right click on (Default) and Click Modify. In the Value Data box type “Windows Live Mail”

Now close the registry, restart computer and you should be done.
